No, none of this was helpful. I already know what is available through the spider web interface on all the links yous provided. What I desire to practice is more specific. Over again, I want to limit my child's use of games during specific times, but allow them total access to their schooling during school hours on the same machine.

Hello,
Thank you for your response.
In that location are two ways to limit the time your child spends with their screens. In addition to setting certain hours during which they can use their devices, you tin can also set a maximum time per device that determines how many hours per twenty-four hours they tin use them. For example, y'all might let them spend two hours a twenty-four hour period on each device during the week, merely give them more time on weekends.
I suggest y'all to refer the below link and check if it helps you regarding setting the limits for the Child account.
Refer: Set the right limits for your kid
Hope it helps. Keep us posted to help y'all improve.

Over again, not helpful. I am not sure that anyone who is representing Microsoft on this thread is really reading my original post (typical). Permit me repeat it again....
I need to limit the time on specific games/software for my kid while still allowing NO LIMIT to other software on the same automobile. I am non looking to limit the "screen time" or "which devices they tin can use". I just desire to command when the child can get on an use the "games" on the machine while still assuasive them to use the school software on the same automobile without limit.

Hello,
Thanks for your response.
I hope you have read the whole article given to a higher place.
Earlier Windows 10, app and game restrictions had ii split up On/Off switches—one for apps, and i for games. Now, both are managed with i switch. If you previously but turned on restrictions for one of them simply not the other, and haven't changed them since, and so those settings still apply. Even so, if yous visit family unit on the Microsoft business relationship website and plow app, game and media restrictions off and so on again, apps, games, and media will be restricted.
Promise this information helps.
Thank you

I have read the article you gave me, perhaps I am not understanding it, but from the links provided, there does Non SEEM to be a mode to limit certain apps/games for a specific time - you lot can but block/limit the unabridged device or the level of maturity level (age rating), which is not what I want to do.
If the reply is - NO, WHAT YOU Desire TO DO CANNOT Be Washed, and then some representative from Microsoft delight say so. Otherwise, please bespeak me to the specific article that will allow me to practice what I desire to do.

I agree with @MinecraftDad hither.
These family unit controls cannot command game/app time on my surface tablet without blocking all screen fourth dimension for homework.
These family controls cannot block an app on merely the Surface tablet just allow on the Xbox. It blocks the app on all devices.
I recently purchased a new Surface Pro and I want the kids to be able to use it for school, non games. I yet desire to allow them to use the Xbox for games. As far as I tin tell, these parental controls cannot do anything but full screen time. Why would I want to limit screen time for doing their homework????
These controls need serious revision. It is sad that @MinecraftDad pointed out these serious limitations and then long ago as at that place practice not appear to be whatsoever improvements. Microsoft needs to get serious about this if they want to exist a played in the tablet market place.
I will be looking into tertiary party tools again to accomplish this, but the Microsoft ecosystem doesn't include nearly plenty apps equally other ecosystems.
Manifestly none of the Microsoft Program managers or Developers have kids.

This is exactly what I accept been trying to figure out. I likewise desire to be able to limit admission to certain apps (Roblox in particular), only notwithstanding let my child access to educational and school related apps and sites. Since information technology doesn't seem possible inside Windows 10, has anyone on this thread institute any third-party software to practise the chore?
Thanks, and Good Luck to all of us!

Im shocked MS havent sorted this out. It's 2018 for heavens sake.
Millions of parents take this same need,... to restrict certain apps merely non others.
As emphasized by DoKToR2Brains what is the point of limiting 'screen time' when you want your kid to exercise their homework.
Microsoft dont seem to employ parents, but millennials.
